Temple History

The construction of ancient temples is a valuable heritage of Khmer heritage. The feature of this ancient site is marked by two different architectural histories: Archaeologists study the inscriptions and another, through the legend that people living in the vicinity of the temple have a look at the mouth and have a talk. According to the inscription on the Chiso Mountain, called Srey So Bor Pit (ស្រីសូរ្យបព៌ត), or Srey Bor Pit (ស្រីបព៌ត), which means Suryavarman 1's mountain (ព្រះបាទសូរ្យវរ្ម័នទី១). In the temple of Phnom Chiso, there are two inscriptions bearing, the first inscription on the offering of sacred items to the deities. In the mountain called "Srey So Bor Pit", meaning "So Bor Pit" in 1019 AD. Another inscription, the second inscription, mentions the Suryavarman II Dynasty, his cousin, a descendant of King Hennervann (ស្ដេចហិន្យវរ្ម័ន).

According to the inscription at Preah Vihear Temple (ប្រាសាទព្រះវិហារ) in Preah Vihear Province, it was mentioned that the conduct of the Sevorleong Ceremony (ពិធីសេវលិង្គ) named Sovimesvarak (សូរ្យវិមេស្វរៈ) at Sotry Temple (ប្រាសាទសូរ្យទ្រី) was in 1018 AD. The Angkorian inscription of Siemreab referred to the temple of Srey Soryak Kiri (ស្រីសូរ្យគីរី) and describes the deity, the King of the Universe, which the ancient Khmers call the Komror Teng Jerkot (កម្រតេងជគត) who placed it at the temple. But if we talk about the legendary story, there is a history of building the temple of Phnom Chiso as follows:

Inscription at Phnom Chiso temple
Mature men living in the vicinity of Chiso mountain still have a sense of memory, and this legend tells the children to keep telling from one mouth to the other, saying that there was a king in a martyrdom Located east of Chiso Mountain, near the river, Om. The villager named "Sen Pouvang" (សែនភូវាំង) , with the name and scaffold of the place to this day, also organized a ceremony called the shaving of the king's son, whose name is called the Chomrern Preah Kes Preah Reach Orous Ceremony (ពិធីចម្រើន ព្រះកេស ព្រះរាជឱរស). In those days, the principal brahmans, who gave their blessings to the royal children, greeted them. But they are interested in the last Brahman, who wishes to say to the king, "Be strong like ants, to be as powerful as a ghost, and to be as sharp as a woman. In the meantime, all the guests and the king were wondering what the blessing was, and the king gave the Brahmans an explanation to be skeptical. The Brahmans interpreted the following:

The very first strong as the ants is to determine exactly how much ant is a strong animal. At the same time, the Brahman states that it is necessary to use the iron as a human and to give it alone. The wound was not ready. But if a pointer is as large as an ants and a honey stain, then an ant is seen. This is called strong as ants.

The second blessing, like the ghost, is to bring the seven ghosts to the tomb near the same circle, with a circular perimeter and a center bundle. At night, there was an incinerator here, asking if anyone would dive in for a night out. No one is daring to dig. This is called the mighty ghost.

Third Blessing Like a Girl There is a real story that shows that women are willing to kill their husbands to gain wealth and honor. And the husband does not dare kill his wife for wealth and peace. This is a clear example of the fact that women are very innocent.

The road goes up to the top of the mountain, when it is known, and he knows exactly what it means, and all the guests of the ceremony and the king agree and support and raise the brahman as royal teachers in the training of the king's sons. Moreover, the King built the temple on the hill of Chiso, the temple of Phnom Chiso, as a heritage to the present, to provide to the bamboo, as well as the monument of worship. This is the story of the construction of the Phnom Chiso through legends.
