Siem Reap Province
Siem
Reap Province is located in the northwest of Cambodia, famous tourist
destination and Angkor Wat. Siem Reap is located on the south of the
Tonle Sap. The name of Siem Reap is, according to history, the Khmer
Empire victorious on the Siamese kingdom (present-day Thailand) in
the 17th century. Angkor Wat is the largest religious monument in the
world, with large stones similar to the pyramid of Egypt. Unlike
other stone temples, Angkor Wat is oriented to the west and
12th-century Hindu style. The top of the temple is proportional to
the image on the Cambodian flag.
Angkor
Wat was initiated by King Suryavarman II, which took about 30 years
to build. The temple is believed to be the temple for the royal
festivals and is governed by Buddhism.
Siem
Reap is centered on small villages along the Siem Reap River. These
villages were developed by maintaining the original nature,
surrounded by pagodas. The pagodas are located along the river ranges
from the Monastery of Preah Norodom Boulevard in the north to the
southern part of Wat Phnom Hill, where the shores of Siem Reap and
Tonle Sap rivers are converged. The city center is about Sivath Road,
Old Market, and Angkor Night Market, where ancient buildings,
colonial departments, shops and commercial areas are welcoming
national and international visitors.
You
can have options ranging from 5 star resorts and resorts to hundreds
of guesthouses that serve a wide range of dishes such as Italian,
Indian, French, German, Russian, Thai, Korean, Japanese, and Burmese,
as well as an abundance of boutiques in Angkor Night Market and
around Old Market. Siem Reap Airport can welcome many tourists to
Cambodia, especially visitors to Siem Reap, to visit Angkor Wat
Angkor Thom (around 6km from Siem Reap) and other ancient temples.
Now
you can enjoy a delicious dinner accompanied by apsaras dance at
Island Bar Restaurant, surrounded by a beautiful garden at the Angkor
Night Market. The trip to the fishing village and the bird park is a
leisure activity that we recommend with visiting a workshop of
handmade products and silk producing farms and cycling in the fields
on the outskirts of Siem Reap. Currently, Siem Reap is ranked number
one in Asia and No. 2 in the world's tourist destinations by 2015,
jumping from the 7th spot last year, according to the latest tourism
website ranking. World Class TripAdvisor.
